What happens at the Austin Reggae Festival?

A fundraiser for the Capital Area Food Bank, the event features three days of amazing reggae / world / dub talent on the Main Stage and Charlie’s Dub Corner. Check out the Band section of this website for complete day-by-day, hour-by-hour lineup. In addition to all this great music, the Austin Reggae Festival includes more than 50 vendors selling a variety of delicious food, plus unique arts & crafts. On top of all this, attendees enjoy celebrating spring at one of the city’s best outdoor venues with positive-thinking people from around the United States and around the world!

What are the dates for the 2013 Austin Reggae Festival?

Friday, April 19 through end of day on Sunday, April 21 at Auditorium Shores in Austin.

What are the hours for the 2013 Austin Reggae Festival?

Gates open at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 19. Gates open at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 20 and at 11:00 am on Sunday, April 21. Gates close at 10:00 pm every night of the event. There is NO overnight camping at Auditorium Shores — all patrons must leave the park at 10:00 pm.

Where is Auditorium Shores?

Auditorium Shores is located in downtown Austin at the corner of South First and Riverside in sunny South Austin Texas. The entry gate for Auditorium Shores is located on the south end of the park, just off of Riverside Drive.

Can I purchase advance tickets for the 2013 Austin Reggae Festival?

Yes, purchase advance tickets online by clicking on this link. Or (beginning April 4), purchase advance tickets at all Planet K locations in Austin, San Antonio and San  Marcos. Advance tickets save you $5 on walk-up costs.

Can I save by purchasing a multi-day ticket for the event?

Yes, you can buy a 3-Day-Pass online for only $35. The 3-Day-Pass is only available online. The 3-Day-Pass is only sold in advance of the event.

If I don’t purchase in advance, how much do tickets cost at the front gate on day of show?

Walk-up price for tickets is $20 per day. Kids 12 and under admitted free with parent.

Is it true that there is a discount for single day tickets on Sunday, April 21?

Yes, each ticket purchased for Sunday, April 21 allows for two-for-one entry. So, purchase one ticket for Sunday, April 21 (either online or at Planet K), and your friend can come along for FREE. This two-for-one deal is only good on single-day tickets for Sunday, April 21. 

Is there a discount admission for children?

Yes, children 12 and under are admitted free if accompanied by a parent or adult.

Where is the Box Office for the 2013 Austin Reggae Festival?

The Austin Reggae Festival Box Office is immediately adjacent to the entry gates on the south side of Auditorium Shores. Visit the Austin Reggae Festival Box Office if you purchased a 3-Day-Pass for the 2013 event — once there, you will be given a wristband for entry into the event. Or, if you purchased a ticket online and you didn’t print out the ticket before coming to Auditorium Shores, we can help you at the Box Office (so long as you have a picture ID).

How is the Capital Area Food Bank involved in the Austin Reggae Festival?

A portion of ticket sales for the Austin Reggae Festival benefits the Capital Area Food Bank. In 2012, this event generated $219,406.97 for this amazing total, thereby helping to provide more than half a million meals for hungry Central Texas families. Since the event began in 1994, the Austin Reggae Festival has donated more than one million dollars to this important charity. This charitable component falls in line with what we believe is the spirit of compassion, generosity and goodwill that the finest elements of reggae music have always embodied.

Are dogs allowed at the Austin Reggae Festival?

We love dogs. But, over the last few years, the Austin Reggae Festival has grown too big for humans and canines to peacefully co-exist. So, please leave your dog at home.

Can I bring in a lawn chair or blanket?

Yes, you can bring in a lawn chair. Yes, you can bring in a blanket. You may combine the two in any order. See the What Can I Bring section of this website for complete details.

Are food / beverages available inside Auditorium Shores?

Yes, the Austin Reggae Festival features dozens of vendors selling a variety of food and beverages. In terms of food, options range from Jamaican jerk chicken to pepperoni pizza (and everything in between). In terms of beverages, patrons can purchase soft drinks, lemonade, ice tea, bottled water or beer. 

Are outside food / beverages allowed?

Patrons are NOT allowed to bring food or beverages into the Austin Reggae Festival. Instead, visit the many vendors for a variety of local / regional / international food options.

What about water — can I bring water into the Austin Reggae Festival?

Each patron is allowed to bring in one sealed container of bottled water. The size of this container is up to you. See the What Can I Bring section of this website for complete details.

Will there be an ATM inside the park?

Yes. In fact, there will be several ATMs inside the park.

Is overnight camping allowed at Auditorium Shores?

The Austin Reggae Festival was founded in 1994. So, the 2013 marks our 20th anniversary.

Nope. We are the same crew now as we were then.
