Yogoman & Bongo Jac featuring Big Buck are coming to Austin Reggae Fest from the Linden, Texas in the Northeast region on the Louisiana border, where the Piney Woods meet the Bayou, between Texarkana and Shreveport.
This family trio brings a positive and joyful vibration featuring Jordan Rain/Yogoman (of Yogoman Burning Band and DJ Yogoman) on lead vocal and hollow body electric guitar, his wife Jacqueline on bongos, percussion and vocals, and their 10 year old son Buck on keys, vocals and melodica.
Yogoman has been steeped in Jamaican music over the last three decades being an active live Deejay/Selector with his main focus leading his 6 to 8 piece Yogoman Burning Band (since 2005). Yogoman has toured and backed early Jamaican Ska to Roots Reggae Legend Winston “Flames” Jarrett from Kinsgston of Studio One, Treasure Isle, Upsetters, Prince Buster labels/producers, and performed with the legendary Skatalites band in multiple locations while playing major international and national Reggae Festivals with many of Reggae's best such as Toots & the Maytals, Marcia Griffiths, Ken Boothe, Culture, Clinton Fearon, Sly & Robbie and many more.
Jordan Rain/Yogoman draws a musical connection between Boogie Woogie music that comes from Northeast Texas in the late 1800’s and Jamaican Boogie and Ska music of the early 60’s, which became Rocksteady and Reggae in the late 60's. Yogoman’s sound blend’s a deeply unique history and lineage of the music between Texas and Jamaica. Yogoman & Bongo Jac featuring Big Buck’s set at Austin Reggae Fest on Easter Sunday is a carefully curated Gospel Reggae set with some Texas Country flair.
